Remove.bg Joins Abyssale, Smarter Auto Format, and Faster Search Across the API and MCP
Hi there,
This update brings a new reference model for background removal, better results from Auto Format AI, more control for AI assistants connected through MCP, and a much faster way to find what you need in your workspace by API.
Remove.bg, now available in Remove Background
The best-known name in background removal is now part of Abyssale. Remove.bg joins the list of models in the Remove Background tool, alongside Bria RMBG 2.0, BiRefNet, Ideogram, PixelCut and imageUtils.

It's our top pick when the cutout has to be perfect: it keeps fine details like hair and semi-transparent areas that other models tend to lose. Select it from the model picker in the AI toolbar, and like every model, its credit cost is shown before you generate. For everyday cutouts, the other models remain a lighter option.
Auto Format AI: better results on unusual formats
Auto Format AI now handles less common formats much better than before. Very wide banners, very tall layouts, and other unusual sizes come out with cleaner, more balanced layouts, so there's less to fix by hand after adapting a design.

MCP: your AI assistant can now organize your designs
AI assistants connected to Abyssale through MCP can now help keep your workspace tidy. Directly from a conversation, they can:

- Rename a design
- Move a design to another project
- Delete a design
And with MCP 1.2.0, your assistant understands requests like "show me my latest designs" or "find an elegant bold serif font" and answers them in a single step. It's also more transparent: if you ask for an option it doesn't support, it tells you instead of quietly ignoring it, and when a search finds nothing, it suggests which filter to remove.

API: find any design, font or project in one call
Until now, finding a specific design, font or project by API often meant pulling the whole workspace list and filtering it yourself. That's no longer necessary.
Designs can now be searched and filtered directly:
- Search by keywords, in any order (for example "black friday story"), or by project
- Filter by type (including print and multi-page print), orientation, size (like 1080×1920 or 210×297), format, and creation or last-update date
- Sort by last edited, to get your most recent work first

Fonts can be found by name, without worrying about capitals, accents or spaces, and filtered by category, weight (bold, for example) and italic.
Projects can be filtered by name.
Large lists can also be paginated, with the total number of results returned in the response.
Nothing changes for existing integrations: without these new options, every list answers exactly as before.
SDKs: all of these filters are already available in the Node.js SDK (@abyssale/sdk 1.7.0) and the Python SDK (abyssale 1.5.0).
