Pre-fill your forms with default values

You can now set a default value on input fields when building an form (external forms and Send form actions). When a recipient receives the form, this field has already been filled out for them with an estimated answer, but they can change it if they see fit.

This makes it easier to guide respondents toward the common answer and cuts down on the typing they have to do.

Great use cases

• Default the "Start date" on a new-hire registration form to the first of next month, so most people just confirm it.

• Set the country or office location on a regional signup form, so respondents only fill in what's actually theirs.

Important to know!

• Works for text, long text, kennitala, number, date, email, phone, single choice, multiple choice and dropdown fields. 🧠

• The default shows in the builder, the Preview tab, the public form and the portal form.

• File upload fields and the locked Full name and Email fields don't take a default.

• Set a default on any input field in the external form builder

• Respondents see the default and can change it if needed
