We have released two new AI features in Bezala:

Policy Control Agent monitors receipts in real time

The Policy Control Agent automatically checks receipts as soon as they are submitted to the system. It detects personal purchases, tips, minibar charges, and incorrect purchase types, and leaves comments directly on the receipt. With broader permissions, the agent can make changes to the receipt form based on the instructions it has been given.

AI detects the country of purchase and automates VAT handling

When an employee adds a receipt to the Bezala, the AI automatically detects the VAT percentage and country of purchase. For purchases made abroad, the VAT field is automatically set to either Purchases Abroad (EU) or Purchases Abroad (Non-EU). This only works if the purchase type selected for the receipt does not have a default VAT, so we recommend removing default VAT settings especially from purchase types used for foreign purchases.

In cases where the VAT should be something other than what was detected from the receipt image – such as entertainment expenses – we recommend using the travel policy agent, which can automatically correct VAT selections based on the instructions it has been given.

Combined with VAT code mapping, the automatic detection of VAT percentage and country of purchase also automates VAT code assignment, significantly reducing the manual work involved in VAT handling.

We recommend enabling both features. Together they significantly streamline Bezala-related work for both expense review and VAT handling. Accounting firms are encouraged to activate the features for their clients as well.
