We’ve published some huge improvements and fixed some bugs the last weeks:

What's new and/or improved?

• You can now add via-points directly when adding a stop, giving you more control over how a vehicle reaches its destination.
• Your "Advanced mode" selection for routing preferences per road type is now remembered, so you don't have to reselect it every time.
• You can now reset speed settings for a vehicle profile back to default with a single click.
• Toll surcharge settings can now be filtered and grouped by country, making it easier to manage settings across regions.
• When you select a ferry connection in search results, the map now zooms in and draws a connecting line between start and destination so the route is easy to follow. Selecting a ferry result also brings its map marker to the front, and pedestrian-only ferries no longer appear in ferry search results.
• Reports now include a cost-per-country breakdown and a more compact stop list, with the signature removed and a smaller font size for easier reading. Report exports also handle special characters and Cyrillic text more reliably, so file names and multi-line addresses no longer come out garbled.

Bug fixes

• Moving a folder with subfolders in Saved Routes no longer shows an incorrect error message.
• The toll date field no longer disappears when switching to standard routing.
• The update date for a saved route now refreshes correctly after saving changes.
• The options button in route planning now has the correct size and shows a tooltip.
• Toggling off address layers now works reliably every time.
• Ferry search results are no longer always added to the end of the route.
• Setting a high avoid value for delivery-only penalties no longer triggers an error.
• Changing one penalty type for a vehicle no longer resets all other penalty types to zero.
• Loading a saved route with a start date in the past no longer overwrites it with today's date.
• Protected vehicles now correctly display their custom speed and penalty settings instead of default values.
• The Data Manager's address layers no longer show unrelated POI layers or unnecessary internal fields.
• Routing with a reference vehicle no longer fails due to unsupported parameters.
• The route options button in Tender+ now works when using a non-standard vehicle.

What's new

Ferry planning got a lot smoother. Search for ferry connections directly in the search panel and add one to your route with a single click. Connections with the same name are now clearly labeled by direction (e.g. "Rostock → Trelleborg" vs. "Trelleborg → Rostock"), so it's always clear which one you're picking, and frequently used ferry connections can now be saved as favorites for quick access later.

Toll surcharges are easier to manage. Your own toll surcharge values per country can now be saved, with the option to fall back to default values. In the toll surcharge table, editable fields are now visually highlighted, making it clear at a glance which values can be adjusted.

More control over route calculation. Road types, crossings, tolls, and access restrictions can now be fine-tuned to influence how routes are calculated — pick a normal mode with simple selection buttons, or switch to an advanced mode for detailed per-road-type settings (prefer, avoid, or block), with a one-click reset back to defaults.

Saved routes are easier to organize: entire folders can now be dragged and dropped, including moving folders between private and shared sections.

Vehicle profiles now support country-specific low-emission-zone exemptions, so route calculations correctly account for any exemptions that vehicle holds.

Upcoming toll changes: When a route is affected by an upcoming toll change, applying it now triggers an immediate recalculation, so pricing is always up to date before a route is committed to.

Past dates: Dates are now selectable when planning a route also for former dates, with a warning shown as a reminder that the calculation is retroactive.

A few smaller refinements round things out: the location search field opens as a clean dropdown for faster address lookup, the stops panel offers helpful guidance when empty, and the route options button is now a compact icon showing when custom settings are active.

Bugfixes

• The loading spinner in the ferry and terminal search panel is now correctly centered.
• Searching for a location again after pressing Enter no longer incorrectly shows "no locations found."
• Rows in the vehicle selection menu were too tall, sometimes hiding the select or save buttons — sizing is now corrected.
• Importing a route where a ferry is the starting stop is now correctly recognized.
• The hint text for adding an address layer now shows the correct instructions.
• Correcting a poorly geocoded imported stop using a saved favorite now updates that stop instead of adding a duplicate.
• The "new version available" notification no longer appears twice.
• The product home page no longer fails to load when no language preference is set — it now defaults to English.

We’ve published some new improvements and fixed some bugs this week:

What's new

Faster stop entry. The "Add stop" field now sits at the top of the Stops panel, so you can add a new stop right away without extra scrolling or clicks.

Easier to find ferry connections. The ferry search is now a direct button in the "Add stop" popover, renamed "Ferries" — no more digging through the three-dot menu. The search itself works exactly as before.

Clearer import error messages. When importing users and one of them already has an account, the error message now shows the person's name and the product they're already registered in — instead of internal ID numbers — so you can immediately see who's affected.

Bug fixes

Fixed: the app no longer crashes when it can't recognize your browser's language setting; it now falls back to a default language when displaying dates.

Merwede Bridge Freight Traffic Ban - Netherlands:

Effective 18 July 2026, trucks are no longer permitted to use the Merwede Bridge (A27) due to safety restrictions. Consequently, the bridge has been blocked for truck traffic in our software as of today. To avoid the Merwede Bridge, please use the Dynamic mode with the option Historic traffic data, incl. real-time traffic.

What's new

Session state persists across reloads
Your route planning session is now remembered. If you switch tools or reload the page, Map&Guide keeps your stops, route name, selected vehicle and cost profile, start/end time, route options, map view, and last used results tab — no more lost work, and no more "do you really want to leave?" warning.

POI search fields reordered
The search fields in POI search have swapped: enter a location in the top field, and what you're looking for (e.g. a petrol station or rest stop) in the field below it. When "Search visible area only" is active, results update automatically as you pan or zoom.
By the way - you can now search for toll stations and motorway junctions.

Cost profile info in price model tab
A cost profile warning is now shown directly in the price model tab when no cost profile is assigned.

Bug fixes

Price model reset
Fixed: the selected price model no longer resets unexpectedly after changing the stop order.

Missing POI tooltips
Fixed: points of interest added from search now show their info tooltip in the stop list.

Address list styling
Fixed: a styling issue with the alternating row background in the address list.

Route settings panel state
Fixed: the route settings panel no longer collapses when you switch to another tab and back.

We recently published a new toll update for The Netherlands (PTV Map&Guide - Next Generation):

Due to two tariffs available (July-August and September-December) it's been split into two separate updates:

Update 1 contains the tariffs valid from 1st of July to 31st of August 2026

Update 2 contains the tariffs valid from 1st of September to 31 of December 2026.

• New costs options are available now. Open the "Costs" UI first and open one of your cost profiles. In "Route costs per trip" you will find the two new options "Fixed costs per started calendar day" and "Fixed costs per 24h".
• "Save routes in folders" is available now. Just create a new route, hit the "Route functions button" (the three dots) and click on "Save route as".

We recently published a new toll update for Belgium (PTV Map&Guide - Next Generation):

Viapass, NV Tunnel Liefkenshoek - This update includes the toll charges for trucks from a maximum authorised mass over 3.5 t in the three Belgian regions: Wallonia, Flanders and Brussels.

New toll rates valid from 1st July, 2026 for all trucks

in Wallona, Flanders, and Brussels. Adjusted toll rates for Liefkenshoek Tunnel. Motorways, other main roads and the local road network in Brussels are subject to tolls. Toll charges are calculated based on kilometre factors and depend on road type and further depend on the emission class and total weight of the vehicle.
