Newest updates in Performance module: Formatted responses and a new role

Shared by Sales & CS • February 17, 2026

Two additions to give you more control over how feedback looks and who can access it.

  • Reviewers can now format their responses - bold text, lists, headings - making feedback easier to read. You can also use variables in question templates (first name, full name, position), so instead of "How do you rate your collaboration with this person?" you write "How do you rate your collaboration with {first name}?" and the system fills it in automatically.
  • The new Performance Reviews Administrator role lets an HR specialist or process coordinator read all collected feedback without needing full system admin access. System administrators won't see feedback unless they're also assigned this role.

More access control improvements are on the way.

Different questions for different people within a single review session

Shared by Sales & CS • February 17, 2026

Running company-wide reviews but want your marketing team evaluated on analytics and developers on code review? You can now do that within a single session.

In the Performance Reviews module, you can now differentiate questions based on who is being reviewed and who is giving the review. Questions can vary depending on:

  • the reviewed person's position,
  • their team,
  • the specific individual being reviewed,
  • the relationship between reviewer and reviewee.

In practice: Ana from marketing gets a question about how she performs at industry conferences when her manager reviews her. A developer doing a peer review won't see that question - only questions relevant to their shared work.

One process, multiple perspectives, more relevant questions. No need to create separate sessions per department.

Turn off Absence abnormalities when you don't need them

Sales & CS avatar
Shared by Sales & CS • February 17, 2026

If your organisation doesn't require daily time logging, the system was still marking every day without a timesheet entry in red — including for freelancers and employees on flexible contracts.

You can now turn off the "Absence" abnormality in system settings. Once disabled, the timesheet stays empty without red markings for days with no entries. Calamari stops treating it as an issue when it isn't one.

Coming next: assigning abnormalities to specific employee groups for even more granular control.

Configure abnormalities and adapt the system to your team's work model.

Mobile app updates: 7 new languages and approval history

Shared by Sales & CS • February 17, 2026

We've updated the Calamari mobile app to give managers more control in the field and better support international teams.

What's new:

  • Support for multicultural teams. The app now supports 7 new languages: Italian, Serbian, Portuguese, Croatian, Ukrainian, Turkish, and Dutch. This helps avoid misunderstandings and reduces unnecessary questions from employees. You can change the language directly in the app settings.
  • Full approval history always at hand. Managers can check previous decisions without opening their laptop. We've added two new tabs to the approval screen: Leave history and Timesheet changes history. Perfect for quick checks in the field or between meetings.
  • Avoid timesheet conflicts. The app will warn you when you try to add work time that overlaps with an existing entry. This helps catch errors before they become a problem.

Whether you manage an office team or field workers - everything you need is now in your phone.

Update the Calamari mobile app to start using the new features.

Reminders now take you straight to action

Shared by Sales & CS • January 21, 2026

When you receive a reminder about important dates (email, Slack, or Teams), you can react immediately – we've added direct links to a filtered view of employees who require your attention.

How it works:

  • Click the link in the notification, and you'll land in a filtered People view that shows only the relevant employees.
  • The view includes key columns: First Name, Last Name, Position, and the specific Custom field with the date (e.g., Medical examination expiry date).
  • Next to each date, you'll see how many days remain until the action (e.g., in 14 days) – you immediately know how urgent the matter is.

No more searching through profiles. You go straight to where you do the work – check the list, update the dates, and you're done.

Better control over your workday – straight from your phone

We've updated the Calamari mobile app to give you faster access to timesheets, leave request management, and team schedule viewing.

What's new:

  • Work Day History on your phone. Your entire workday as a timeline: clock-ins, breaks, projects, and manual edits in one view.
  • Redesigned leave request list. Two clear tabs: "My" and "Company". We've added filters at the top (dates, people, status, leave type) and status icons for faster scanning.
  • Time & Attendance change requests. A dedicated section for editing timesheets (add forgotten time, edit hours, remove errors).
  • Clearer request details. Old values crossed out and grayed out, new changes highlighted in color. Full action history available in request details.

Less time searching, more time getting things done.

Update the Calamari mobile app (iOS/Android) and check out the new features.

Make sure your substitute is available

Shared by Sales & CS • January 21, 2026

You can now control what happens when someone chooses a substitute who is on leave when submitting a leave request.

Previously, the system always blocked such requests – even during the holiday season, when finding an available substitute was difficult. Now you have a choice:

  • Block the request: Don't allow the request to be submitted if the substitute is absent.
  • Display a warning: Show a warning, but allow the request to be sent.

Example: Anna submits a leave request and chooses Mike as her substitute. If Mike is absent during that period, the system will block Anna's request or display a warning – depending on your settings.

👉 Configure in Leave Types → Restrictions

The restriction works separately for each leave type. For existing clients, we've set "Block" as the default to maintain current workflows.

Track changes in timesheets – everything in one place

Shared by Sales & CS • January 21, 2026

We've added a new "Change History" view in the Time & Attendance module. Each employee now has access to their work time change requests and their complete history.

Previously, this information was only visible to managers and administrators in approval views. Now employees can also review their requests – adding forgotten time, editing hours, deleting entries – along with the change and approval history.

This makes it easier to control the employee's timesheet and allows for a precise understanding of what happened with each request.

Generate reports in the background

Sales & CS avatar
Shared by Sales & CS • January 21, 2026

You work with large datasets? Generating extensive reports can take more time – that's why we've introduced a background processing mechanism.

When report creation exceeds one minute, the system takes over the work in the background. You can return to your tasks, and we'll send you an email as soon as the file is ready to download.

What you gain:

  • Freedom – you don't block your browser or your time
  • Email notification – you click the link and immediately download the report
  • Report history – a new panel in the application stores your reports for 7 days.

The feature is already available in the Requests and Entitlement reports. We'll soon expand it to the rest.

Performance

Full control over the evaluation process

Shared by Sales & CS • January 21, 2026

Work on the new Performance Review module isn't slowing down! From now on, you can change reviewers and participants even during an ongoing review session. You don't need to end it and start over.

What's changed:

  • Flexible sessions - Assign questions per position, per evaluation type, per evaluated person
  • Session filtering – Find specific review cycles by name and status (Active / Completed)
  • List organization – Remove outdated or test sessions from the list.
  • Flexible editing during an ongoing session – Administrators can add or remove participants without restarting the session.
