Mapiq News Center
Find your colleagues in the office in seconds
Hi there,
You came in to work with your team. Now you're walking the floor looking for them, or sending "where are you sitting?" before you've even taken your coat off. Office days are for time together, and that starts with knowing who's there.
Mapiq now shows you who's in the building today and where they're sitting. You can find a colleague with one search and plan your office days around the people you work with.
Before
- You looked for familiar faces on the map, one floor at a time
- Finding a colleague meant scrolling through your connections
- You had to know someone before you could connect with them
With the new Here & Now and People page
- A list of who's in today, floor by floor, with their photos on the map
- One search for colleagues, rooms, desks, and facilities
- A People page where you can find any colleague and connect in one tap
See who's in today, floor by floor
Here & Now has a new People view. It lists the colleagues who have a desk booked in your building today, sorted by floor, and shows their photos on their desks on the map. Tap someone to see their bookings for today and whether they've checked in.
One search for people and places
Search for a colleague, a meeting room, a desk, or a facility, all from the same search bar. Pick a result and Mapiq shows you where it is on the map.
Connections is now People
Your connections and groups are still there. You can also search for any colleague, open their page, and send them a connection request straight away.
How teams use it
- Before Thursday's planning session, you check where your project team is sitting and book the desk next to them.
- You need a quick word with someone from finance, so you search their name to see if they're in today.
- You've just joined, so you find your new colleagues on the People page and connect with them.
Meet the new Buildings tab: Know what your changes will do
Hi there,
If you manage buildings in the admin portal, there's a good chance, there's a good chance you've sent us a building change request at some point. Not because the tools weren't there, but because a mistake stayed invisible until it was already live, making changes invisible and scary. Office Records gave you a clearer view of what's happening with bookings. The Buildings tab now does the same for the building itself.
Every change starts as a draft
Edit at your own pace, over several days if you need to. Your changes go into a draft that only you and your fellow admins can see, so employees keep using the published building until you decide to publish.
A full history, with names on it
Always know what changed and who changed it. Every edit session is recorded by day, our own edits stay labeled separately from yours, and you can roll the draft back to any earlier point or discard it completely. No support ticket needed.
See the impact before you publish
This is the part we're most pleased with. Before you confirm, you see everything that changed, anything blocking you in plain language, and who it affects: how many reservations will be canceled, and which sensors, kiosks, controls, and app links need attention. No more finding out afterward.
Nothing stays quietly broken
After publishing, anything still pointing at a location that no longer exists gets surfaced where you work. You can fix it yourself instead of hearing about it from an employee three weeks later.
Ready to try it? Open the Buildings tab and start a draft. Or read up on drafts, reviewing, and publishing in our help center.
Meet Office Records: Your upgraded booking tab.
Hi there,
If you manage the day-to-day office experience, tracking whoβs in, whatβs booked, and whether everyone has a place to sit, Mapiqβs Booking tab in the admin portal is probably where you spend the majority of your time. Thatβs why we invested time in improving this and now present to you our new Records table.
Everything in one place
Get the full picture without switching views or comparing spreadsheets. Office Records brings every booking into a single tab, grouped by employee, so you can quickly review each personβs booked office days, desks, and parking at a glance.

No more blind spots
Get a complete, auditable timeline for every employee, beyond a basic βchecked in / not checked in.β Office Records now shows clear attendance statuses like Present, Not seen, Late cancel, and Unexpected, so you can spot issues and follow up fast.

Better paper trails
Always know exactly what happened to every booking. Each record now includes created and canceled timestamps, plus who made the change, giving you a complete audit trail of the who, what, and when.

Easier exports
Exports are now fully configurable, and creating them is simpler than ever. You can build the exact report you need without having to touch your view each time. Next time you click on Export, choose the fields you want to include in the pop up that opens, preview the output, and then download as csv or excel.

Have you used it already? If not, check out the Records table now. Or interested to know what the Records table offers, read up on it in our help center.

π No more no-shows with Mapiq's automatic room release! π
Hey there,
Do you often experience that all meeting rooms are unavailable, only to find them booked but empty? Say farewell to wasted space with Mapiq's latest feature: automatic release of meeting rooms in case of a no show.
Key benefits
π Maximize workspace efficiency: Free up available space to ensure employees have a room when they need one.
π Gather actionable insights: Get insights into no show patterns and -trends, showing the impact of your room optimizations. See here
π‘ Empower your teams: Encourage employees to book rooms wisely.
How it works?
- Mapiq checks whether a room is booked and whether there are people detected by sensors in the room.
- 5 minutes after the meeting started, an automatic notification is sent to the organizer to confirm or cancel their presence.
- If no presence is detected and the organizer doesn't respond, the room is automatically released in 10 minutes.
- Outlook sends an email to the organizer once the room is released. Only the room booking is cancelled, not the meeting itself.
- Employees need to give consent individually to receive in-app, email and/or push notifications.
Our newest feature is available when:
- The occupancy feature is enabled. π Learn More
